Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z Gets a New TFT Display: Price Features and Engine Details

The Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z has gotten another update in India. Bajaj Auto has launched a version of its top-of-the-line Pulsar street motorcycle. This updated model now features a 5-inch TFT instrument console, Google Maps mirroring, music control options, a USB Type-C port and a panic brake alert system.

The new version is priced at ₹1.90 lakh ex-showroom in Delhi. This is ₹4,000 higher than the model. The added features come at a time when Bajaj is slowly expanding its digital interface, across the entire Pulsar lineup.

There is one important detail that buyers should keep in mind. The current NS400Z is no longer powered by the 373cc engine. In April 2026 Bajaj replaced it with a 349.13cc single-cylinder engine. Still the motorcycle keeps the performance-focused character that riders expect.

What’s New on the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z?

The biggest change in the version is the instrument cluster. The new 5-inch TFT display provides Google Maps mirroring for navigation. The same display offers Bluetooth connectivity. The same display offers music control. The same display offers information. A lap timer is also included. This gives the NS400Z a performance-oriented digital interface. Bajaj has also added a USB Type-C charging port. This is an upgrade for riders who regularly use their smartphone for navigation. Another new feature is the panic brake alert. During braking the system activates the hazard lights. This warns following traffic. These additions do not change the motorcycles package.

Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z Engine

The current Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z uses a 349.13cc, liquid‑cooled single‑cylinder engine. According to Bajajs specifications engine produces 40.6 PS at 9,000 rpm and 33.2 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. Engine is paired with a six‑speed gearbox and a wet multiplate assist‑and‑slipper clutch. Engine also uses a 4‑valve DOHC layout with DLC‑coated finger followers. This is worth highlighting because Bajaj Pulsar NS400Zs engine history can be confusing. Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z originally arrived with a 373cc engine while the 2025 Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z received performance upgrades that increased output to 43 PS. Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z downsized engine to 349.13cc in 2026 primarily to move Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z into the lower 18% GST slab.

Performance and Top Speed

Bajaj says the motorcycle can go from zero to 60 kilometers per hour in 2.7 seconds. It can reach zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.4 seconds. The top speed is 157 kilometers per hour under the test conditions. The performance numbers are still impressive for a motorcycle that is priced around two lakh rupees. The six-speed transmission gives the NS400Z flexibility for riding in the city and, on the highway. Riders can choose four riding modes: Road, Rain, Sport and Off-Road. Each mode changes the way the motorcycle performs and how the ABS works.

Traction Control and Quickshifter

The NS400Z also has electronic rider aids that were not common on motorcycles, at this price range a few years back. The motorcycle has traction control and the higher equipment package adds a -directional quickshifter. Bajajs current model information also shows four riding modes and dual-channel ABS. The quickshifter lets the rider change gears without using the clutch when the conditions are right. This is especially helpful when accelerating quickly and makes the motorcycle feel more performance-oriented.

Suspension and Brakes

Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z has a perimeter frame and a 43mm upside‑down front fork. The rear has a monoshock with a gas canister. The front suspension can move 130mm. The rear also moves 130mm as Bajaj says. Brakes are 320mm on the front and 230mm on the rear. The bike has dual‑channel ABS. Radial tyres fit: 110/70 ZR17 at the front and 150/60 ZR17 at the rear. Together this gives the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z a set of parts for a street bike, in its price range.

Design Remains Familiar

Despite the new TFT console, the basic design of the Pulsar NS400Z remains unchanged.

The motorcycle continues with the aggressive naked-streetfighter styling associated with the NS range. The sharp LED lighting, muscular fuel tank and exposed mechanical components give it a familiar Pulsar appearance.

Bajaj currently lists four colours for the motorcycle:

  • Brooklyn Black
  • Pearl Metallic White
  • Glossy Racing Red
  • Pewter Grey

The latest update is therefore more about equipment than visual redesign. Bajaj Auto

Is the NS400Z Still a Good Value?

The answer really depends on what a buyer’s looking for in a motorcycle. The NS400Z doesn’t have the finish or the smooth multi-cylinder sound that some pricier bikes offer.. It still stands out because of how it balances performance, features and cost.

This motorcycle comes with a 349cc liquid-cooled engine, a six-speed gearbox, traction control, four riding modes, a quickshifter, dual-channel ABS, USD forks and radial tyres. The new TFT version brings usefulness without making the price jump too much.

Earlier road tests from reviewers praised the NS400Z for being a smart buy and having solid performance.. They also mentioned things, like throttle response, smoothness and how the brakes feel. Areas where the bike could be better.

CarBike Insight Analysis

The latest Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z update is worth noticing. Bajaj is not trying to redesign the motorcycle. This makes the NS400Z more affordable for buyers. The new TFT variant also brings the bike up to date in an area where the NS400Z was starting to feel outdated compared to newer models. The ₹4,000 extra cost for the TFT version is not a jump. For someone looking for an everyday motorcycle, with modern electronics the NS400Z is still a solid choice. Its main strength is not one feature. It’s the amount of hardware and technology Bajaj is packing into the price. The new TFT version only makes that value even better.

The Bottom Line

The Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z has changed a lot since it first came out. The newest model now uses a 349.13cc engine that delivers performance. It also includes features like riding modes, traction control and a quickshifter. The bike now has a 5-inch TFT display, which makes it look up to date. It also supports Google Maps mirroring, music controls, USB Type-C charging and panic brake alerts. These updates give the NS400Z a modern and connected feel. Priced at ₹1.90 lakh ex-showroom in Delhi for the version, with the TFT display the NS400Z stays focused on riders who want performance and smart features without having to pay premium prices for top-tier motorcycles.
