Editorial Policy
Last updated: October 3, 2026
This Editorial Policy explains how CarBike Insight creates, checks, and updates content on carbikeinsight.com. We publish news, reviews, comparisons, specifications, and buying guides about cars, motorcycles, and electric vehicles, with a focus on readers in India and anyone who follows the market from abroad.
Our goal is useful, honest journalism: clear facts where we can verify them, transparent opinions where judgment matters, and corrections when we get something wrong. This page works together with our About page, Disclaimer, and Terms of Service.
What we publish
- News and launches: New models, updates, recalls, policy, and industry moves, sourced from official announcements, reputable press channels, and our own reporting where possible.
- Reviews and first drives: Hands-on impressions when we have seat time; clearly labeled when we have not driven or ridden a variant.
- Comparisons and buying guides: Side-by-side analysis for stated use cases (city commute, family, touring, budget EV, and similar).
- Specifications and explainers: Trim lists, feature summaries, and plain-language context on tech and safety.
Independence and commercial relationships
Editorial decisions are made by our team, not by advertisers or manufacturers. We do not accept payment to write a positive review or to hide flaws. If we publish sponsored content, affiliate links, or paid partnerships, we label them clearly (for example “Sponsored,” “Advertisement,” or a disclosure near the link). Compensation may affect where a link appears; it does not change our obligation to be accurate and fair within the scope of the piece.
Manufacturers, importers, and PR agencies may provide press loans, access to events, images, or briefing materials. That access helps us report; it does not guarantee a favorable write-up. We return or follow agreed terms for press vehicles and do not sell review coverage.
Sourcing and verification
We prefer primary sources: official spec sheets, homologation documents, manufacturer media sites, and on-the-record statements. For prices and offers, we cite ex-showroom or on-road figures when available and note the date and region. When we rely on secondary sources, we cross-check when practical and say when information is unconfirmed.
- We do not invent quotes, test results, or driving impressions.
- We distinguish rumor from confirmed news in headlines and body copy.
- We link to relevant official or source material when it helps the reader verify claims.
Reviews and ratings
Review scores and “best for” labels reflect the author’s evaluation against criteria we explain in the article (comfort, performance, value, efficiency, safety kit, and similar). Scores are comparable within a review or comparison, not a universal scale across every vehicle we have ever tested. Weather, road surface, traffic, load, and tyre choice affect outcomes; we describe test conditions when they matter.
If multiple editors contribute, the byline or article note identifies who drove, who edited, and who approved publication.
AI and automation
We may use software tools to organize data, draft outlines, or check grammar. Every article that appears on the Site is reviewed, edited, and approved by a human editor before publication. We do not publish fully automated articles without human review. We do not present AI-generated text as firsthand driving experience.
Images and media
We use our own photography when we have it, manufacturer press assets when permitted, and licensed or credited third-party images when needed. Captions and alt text should describe what the image shows. We do not mislabel stock or render images as exclusive spy shots.
Updates and corrections
Automotive news goes stale quickly. We update articles when specs, prices, or availability change materially. Significant corrections get a visible note when the change affects reader decisions (for example wrong price, wrong safety rating, or incorrect launch date). Minor typos may be fixed without a note.
To report an error, email hello@carbikeinsight.com or use our Contact page with the article URL and what should change. We aim to acknowledge serious correction requests within a reasonable time.
Comments and user submissions
Where comments are enabled, we may remove spam, abuse, hate speech, or off-topic promotion. We do not remove critical comments solely because they disagree with our review. Tips and story ideas are welcome; we verify before publishing.
Conflicts of interest
Writers and editors disclose personal conflicts that a reasonable reader would care about (for example ownership of a brand we are reviewing, or employment by an automaker). When a conflict cannot be avoided, we assign a different author or add a clear disclosure on the article.
