JSW MG Motor India has teased the MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition, a new special version of its electric crossover that is expected to arrive soon. The teaser comes as the Windsor EV completes two years in the Indian market, with MG saying that more than 80,000 families have chosen the model.
The teaser does not reveal the complete car or its specifications. However, it gives an early look at the Windsor’s familiar connected LED daytime running lights and overall silhouette, while a new olive-brown exterior shade appears to be one of the main visual changes.
MG has not yet confirmed the Indulge Edition’s launch date, price, battery configuration, interior changes or complete equipment list. That makes this an early look rather than a full launch announcement.
What does the MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition teaser reveal?
The first teaser is deliberately brief. It shows the distinctive connected LED DRLs at the front before revealing the vehicle’s side profile.
The overall shape appears largely unchanged from the regular Windsor EV. The most noticeable difference is the new exterior colour, which has been described in reports as an olive-brown or champagne-like shade.
The teaser also positions the Indulge Edition as a more exclusive version of the Windsor. MG has not yet confirmed exactly how extensive the changes will be.
That distinction is important because the new edition should not be treated as a facelift or new-generation Windsor. Based on the information available so far, it appears to be a special edition focused primarily on styling, equipment and premium detailing.
Why is MG launching the Indulge Edition?
The timing is significant.
The Windsor EV has now completed two years in India, and JSW MG Motor India says the model has crossed the 80,000-customer milestone. The Indulge Edition is being introduced to mark that milestone while giving the existing model a more exclusive identity.
MG has previously used special editions to add visual differentiation to its models. The Windsor Inspire Edition launched in 2025 followed a similar approach, receiving a different colour combination, special exterior details and additional accessories.
The Indulge Edition appears to follow the same broader strategy, although its final equipment package remains unconfirmed.
New olive-brown colour could be the main highlight
The new colour is currently the clearest visual clue from the teaser.
The standard Windsor already has a distinctive design with a relatively upright body, a smooth front end and a connected LED lighting signature. The olive-brown finish gives the upcoming special edition a more understated and premium appearance.
MG has not confirmed the official colour name yet.
It is also unclear whether the new colour will be exclusive to the Indulge Edition or whether additional exterior finishes will be offered.
Reports suggest the special edition could also receive dedicated badging, darker exterior elements or unique wheel treatments, but these details should be treated as expectations until MG officially confirms them.
What could change inside?
MG has not shown the interior of the Indulge Edition in the first teaser.
However, the previous Windsor Inspire Edition provides some context. That version featured red and black upholstery, special embroidery, rose-gold detailing and a black centre-console treatment.
The Indulge Edition could use a different cabin theme to match its new exterior colour. Special upholstery, decorative elements, edition-specific badging or additional comfort equipment are possible.
There have also been reports suggesting premium detailing such as gold-finished elements could be used, but these remain unconfirmed.
Until MG reveals the interior, it would be premature to list these features as standard equipment.
Will the battery and motor change?
There is currently no confirmed powertrain upgrade for the MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition.
The existing Windsor EV range uses two battery options. The standard version has a 37.9kWh battery with a claimed range of 332km, while the Windsor EV Pro uses a 52.9kWh battery with a claimed range of 449km.
Both versions use a 100kW electric motor producing 136PS and 200Nm.
The previous Inspire Edition was offered with the smaller battery pack. Whether the new Indulge Edition will follow the same formula or offer both battery options has not yet been confirmed.
For now, buyers should therefore assume that the Indulge Edition will retain the existing Windsor EV powertrain unless MG announces otherwise.
Existing Windsor EV technology
The current Windsor EV already has a strong technology package, so the Indulge Edition does not necessarily need major mechanical changes to create a different proposition.
The cabin features a large 15.6-inch touchscreen, while MG’s Aero Lounge seating can recline by up to 135 degrees. The model is positioned between conventional sedan and SUV concepts, with a focus on interior space and comfort.
The standard model also offers connected-car technology and a number of convenience features. The exact equipment that will be carried over to the Indulge Edition should become clearer when MG officially unveils the car.
MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition price
MG has not announced the price of the Indulge Edition.
The current Windsor EV range is reported to start at around ₹14.70 lakh ex-showroom, with the higher Windsor EV Pro reaching around ₹17 lakh ex-showroom.
The Indulge Edition is expected to sit at a premium over the equivalent regular Windsor if it receives exclusive styling, interior upgrades and additional accessories.
However, there is currently no official figure for the Indulge Edition.
MG also offers a Battery-as-a-Service programme on the Windsor EV, but whether the Indulge Edition will be offered under exactly the same commercial structure will need to be confirmed at launch.
MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition vs regular Windsor
The biggest difference is likely to be the level of exclusivity rather than the underlying vehicle.
| Area | Windsor EV Indulge Edition | Regular Windsor EV |
|---|---|---|
| Exterior | New olive-brown shade expected | Existing colour options |
| Styling | Special-edition detailing expected | Standard design |
| Badging | Expected special-edition badging | Standard branding |
| Battery | Not confirmed | 37.9kWh / 52.9kWh |
| Power | Not confirmed to change | 136PS |
| Torque | Not confirmed to change | 200Nm |
| Range | Not confirmed | Up to 449km claimed |
| Price | To be announced | From around ₹14.70 lakh reported |
The table highlights an important point. Most of the Indulge Edition’s differences have not yet been officially disclosed.
What happens next?
The next major step will be the official unveiling.
MG is expected to reveal the Indulge Edition’s exterior details, interior treatment, equipment list, battery configuration and pricing at that stage. The company has not yet provided a confirmed launch date in the information currently available.
Until then, the new olive-brown colour is the strongest confirmed visual clue.
The Indulge Edition could also receive additional accessories and premium touches inspired by the earlier Windsor Inspire Edition, but those should not be considered confirmed specifications yet.
What is the Indulge Edition price?
MG has priced it at roughly ₹17.89 lakh to ₹18 lakh ex-showroom. Reports differ by a few thousand rupees, so check the figure with your dealer before booking. It is based on the top Essence trim, and it costs around ₹74,000 to ₹1 lakh more than that car, depending on the report you read. It is also priced almost the same as the Exclusive Pro, the cheapest Windsor with the bigger battery. Reports say MG will sell only 300 units, and bookings are open.
What is new on the outside?
The olive-brown guess turned out to be wrong. The new colour is called Shadow Gold, and it comes with a black roof. The car also gets 18-inch blacked-out alloy wheels, black mirrors and Indulge badges on the rear pillar. The LED lighting and body shape are unchanged.
What is new inside?
The cabin uses a tan and black leatherette theme, with Indulge embroidery on the front headrests. MG also adds themed cushions and neck pillows. The biggest addition is a roof-mounted flip-down screen for rear passengers, which MG calls the Prive Screen. It is the one feature that makes this more than a colour-and-badge special edition, and it should appeal to chauffeur-driven buyers. MG has not revealed the screen size.
Which battery does it use?
Only the smaller 38kWh battery is offered. The claimed range stays at 332km, and the motor still makes 136PS and 200Nm. There is no 52.9kWh version, so the earlier question about two battery options is settled.
Confirmed now vs still open
| Area | Teaser stage | Now confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Colour | Olive-brown expected | Shadow Gold with black roof |
| Battery | Not confirmed | 38kWh only, 332km claimed |
| Interior | Not shown | Tan and black, Indulge embroidery |
| Rear screen | Not mentioned | Roof-mounted Prive Screen |
| Accessories | Expected | Rear sunshade, 3D mats, chrome accents, body-side moulding, leatherette key cover |
Is it worth the premium?
The price puts the Indulge Edition in a tricky spot. For the same money, a buyer can take the Exclusive Pro with the 449km battery. So this edition suits people who want the look, the rear screen and the accessory pack more than extra range. Anyone who drives long distances should look at the bigger battery first.
CarBike Insight Analysis
The MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition appears to be a targeted special edition rather than a major product update.
That could work in MG’s favour. The Windsor has already established a distinctive position in India’s EV market, and a limited or special edition gives the company an opportunity to refresh interest without making major changes to the underlying vehicle.
The new olive-brown finish is particularly important because the Windsor’s design is already quite distinctive. Combined with potential interior upgrades and special accessories, it could give the Indulge Edition a more premium character without changing the vehicle’s core electric package.
For buyers, however, the important details are still missing. Price, battery choice, equipment and the exact interior treatment will determine whether the Indulge Edition offers meaningful additional value over the regular Windsor.
For now, the MG Windsor EV Indulge Edition is confirmed as a teased special edition, while most of its specifications remain to be announced.
